That's absolutely fabulous!

I really need to kick myself so I finish my hood, then I can start poking at my Tudor. I just hope mine turns out half as well!

Thank you. And yes, work on your Fhood! I want to see what you make. Same for your Tudors.

Heh, I only now found this.. LJ notifications aren't getting through to my hotmail account. =/

I remember you commented elsewhere about period problems with blue.. that's got me a touch worried.

This is what has been sitting in my stash for years, waiting for me to get around to it.. It's all wrong, on multiple levels, isn't it? =/

Pretty fabric... makes me drool to look at, since I've been looking for something similar for a later Elizabethan gown.

What will you be using this for?

It screamed Tudor at me from the moment I bought it, and hasn't paused for breath since..

It wants so very badly to be Tudor (Princess Elizabeth style), and my Evil Half has been telling it to get bent lately, because blue = bad. =/

Have you read my myth buster on this issue with blue?
http://www.kimiko1.com/research-16th/CostumeMythsWS/myth24.html

I wear blue, dark blue velvet, for my Elizabethans. I am looking for a beautiful blue damask/brocade for my next Elizabethans. Would I be doing this if I thought it would make me look like a commoner or servant?

And honestly, that gorgeous blue damask is not something I see any commoner or servant ever wearing, unless it was a very old hand me down gifted from a noblewoman who has worn it to rags. Servants would wear light blue wools (broadcloth = wide wool). Damasks are a whole different kettle of fish.

Make it up into your Tudor dream gown!!! Or if you don't want to, I will gladly take it off your hands. :-)

You know, I had read that a while back, and it totally slipped my mind. I guess it's one of those myths that sticks with you.

I've got a rich jewel tone royal blue bit of taffeta that I'd planned on using for the forepart and false sleeves (I bought it back with that damask), I really need to shove that Evil Half in a crate and hide it under the 'not in a million years' fabric boxes.

I've got a tentative pattern for my bodice all ready for adjustments, I just haven't been able to bring myself to 'mangle' that fabric yet.
