Whew!!

I finally got word from my client on the outfit. This is his words exactly.

"Was out of the office yesterday so didn't see the costume until this morning. It is fantastic. Worth the effort. I can see the amount of love you put into your work."

Happy, happy, joy, joy!! I got rather nervous wondering if he would like it or not.

I am working on the photos I took of the final garments. Sadly, I don't have a male model dress form, so I had to put it on my oversized woman's form, so it looks a bit silly. But it was the only form I have right now. I also took photos of the garment lying down flat, so that won't be so goofy looking, but it also doesn't show the drape of it. I also took a few photos of the doublet on Rob, so I could show what the sleeves look like.

And I have to say I am rather blessed by this whole thing. I took all the research I had done for Margo's stuff, info from books, new and old, and the few things I learned since the writeup, and even my whole sewing experience, and took chances on a few new things, like rolled pleats and draping doublet and breeches right on the client's body with no pattern, and put it all into this Henrician outfit. I learned a lot from this experience, and am glad to have received this client from the blue, just so I could create this wonderful outfit, and get payed for doing what I love. That was simply a blessing on top, as I love what I do, and now do what I love, even tho I may not do it often.

So, as soon as I am done prepping the photos, which may be sometime after this weekend, I will post the photos I took digitally. And when my new scanner arrives, I will scan the negs and post those photos, too. Then a writeup on the various garments, and put all of these things into my web site. And if I am lucky, maybe my client will send me a photo of him in the whole thing. Here's hoping for that photo. And I am thankful to God for this blessing I received.
