An interesting observation on hat shapes for an Henrician bonnet. When you try to take this particular pattern (based on old Simplicity bonnet pattern), and shape the lower circle where the head goes into an oval shape front to back to better fit the head, the sides flatten a bit, making it look closer to the original painting of Henry.
I used this pattern because I had it, and didn't have to do much to make it usable, other than trim the 5/8" seam allowance that got in my way for the buckram pattern.
And I took off the clips way too early. Parts of the binding is peeling off. Reglue and clip with lots more, again. I will check again tomorrow. {hehe, it looks like a flying saucer!}
