Maurelle milestone.

Mar 20, 2007 15:17

Maurelle said one of her first real words today, other than mama or dada...
Baby!
It took her awhile to say the second beee sound, so for a bit it was baa-eee. But now she can do multi-syllable words that are not the same sound.

And its cute to see her get praise, cause then she has to clap her hands in joy! And the way her face lights up is very

maurelle, memories

Actually, she said that Sunday at the faire, to Kathy's grandchild. I didn't realize it was a milestone, or I'd have said something earlier.

I thought it was the grandchild that said baby to Maurelle. Did she repeat it back? Did she actually put the b sound in front of the second syllable? That's what took her awhile this morning to get the sound of.

Either way, it's her first word. Interesting that it is a word about herself.

I think that Kathy's grandchild said it first, but I crouched down while you and Kathy chatted and heard Maurelle say something like "baby" as she touched the grandchild, like she does with Cameron. It might have been "bay-ee," but I honestly don't recall. I know I repeated the word properly to her, and we both said it (or something like it) a couple of times.

Cool!

Yeah, next time, say something.

Now she's doing "yum, yum" and patting her tummy and smiling while she's eating. She's picking up quick now.

Babies are the definition and embodiment of cute, I tell you. Now for my insulin. ;)
