New patterns bought

Since I finished up the Tudor gown, I decided that my reward for completion was getting the following two patterns.
Period Patterns #93: Period Patterns Bags, Purses, and Pouches and
Period Patterns #52: Tudor Era Headdresses c. 1490 - 1580.

Normally, I don't use patterns, but they contain a number of items that will help me in making up for early Tudor gear (which I am so focused on right now). I had been thinking about getting them for a few weeks (months?), but held off on doing so as an incentive to finish my Tudor gown. I only wish I had been able to find a review on them before I ordered them (I did ask on lists), as they may not be worth the price of instruction, being that Period Patterns comes with a general warning to chuck the instructions, and I know from experience that sometimes the pattern pieces may have missing parts. But I figured if nothing else, they will help me figure out how to improve on the patterns for my own uses, especially for the Tudor headdresses.

I will eventually get Margo's set of accessories, but I am thinking of buying the whole bundle at once. Probably after I've done my client's Henrician set. I know I need to make an Elizabethan kirtle for my surcoat, and I think her kirtle/surcoat set has the mahoitered upper sleeve for the surcoat I have wanted to make (kinda hard to tell from the sketch). I tried to make that sleeve on my own once, and I just couldn't get it to look anything decent. I do prefer my own surcoat back, but I have to admit that it is rather heavy on the shoulders, for all that pleating on the backside. I just checked Kass' site, and her surcoats don't have a mahoitered sleeve at all. Although the idea of just having a hanging sleeve instead is a possibility. But the Henrician set comes first in January. Its due date is March 1st, which gives me a little extra time just in case.
