Busy weekend not yet over

It's been a busy weekend.

Friday was dinner at Zipangu, and shopping for Halloween stuff at a couple of stores.

Spent Saturday with family and friends up at Cobb's Ranch, enjoying their corn field maze. Cam enjoyed the kiddie tractor pull, bounce house, even a rock climb. I got photos, just too tired to upload them yet. I had a lot of fun, so I am thinking of returning next year, or maybe even for cutting our own Christmas tree this year.

After all that fun stuff, we had a late lunch, did some shopping for the holidays, got some computer stuff including my own 1 gig thumb drive. and also bought my new vacuum cleaner, the high end Kenmore c0demonkey had reviewed. Got home, he put it together with some help from rwfranz, and we tried it out on the living room floor. Very nice, and it was nice to have a really good vacuum, vs the very old and worn out ones we've been using.

My eldest son did not make it to our home to crash overnight. He was coming in from a band review in the Bay area somewhere (Pleasanton, maybe?). He called at early am and told me he had napped on the bus ride, and hence was going to drive all the way home to Dinuba. I told him to crack the windows for cold air, and crank the music to keep his mind awake. I have done that trip many times years ago, and most of the time the drive is ok, just boring. I couldn't get back to sleep for awhile, worried about him, until I realized I didn't tell him to call me when he got home like I should have, and then tried to get my mind on other things that I could fall asleep thinking about. I only hope he made it home safely. I think his dad would have called had he not shown up ok.

Today was early shift with the kids, and then a nap when the baby was crying loud enough to wake up daddy. I still don't know why she was crying, unless she thought she was going to get the bad glass of milk Cam had left out that I took away. She calmed down after getting her own bottle, and I took a nap for a couple of hours. Then it was up and outside to hose down the front area of the house. My legs and most of my front was soaked from the dripping line. Must get a hose washer for next time. Then we set up the decorations for Halloween, including a long strand of lighted skulls on the path, the hanging ghost, a celtic tombstone, some orange lights, and obligatory spider webs and spider. Also have some painted spiders on a plastic sheet for a couple of windows. They allow light to shine through the background, but the black spiders should stand out nicely. If I had thought of my plan when I first bought the stuff I would also have gotten a thunder & lightning machine to semi-strobe in my sewing room to light up the spider windows, but I didn't, and Target had already sold out of them when we went back Friday night. I will get one next year.

Now I am just tired. I should do backups onto my thumb drive, and I am not sure why I am not doing so. I may go back and nap on the couch a bit more, or maybe just get some caffeine into my system. I am yawning like crazy.
