No, not the stomach flu, which has hit both
c0demonkey and our son, but the birthday gift that
c0demonkey got for me.
Moda a Firenze 1540-1580 by Pagliai Plistampa. We purchased it from
artbooks.com Just on first glances, I am in love. I want to do so many of the outfits in here, if only I had the time, the figure and the money to get the fabrics and trims. And there are even a few extant garment pieces I hadn't seen before, including a smock that is just lovely, and would work nicely for an English Tudor gown I think, because of the square neck. It's even gathered, which gives the puff that would be needed for slits in the kirtle sleeves.
Now to finish my current project research, so I can get into actually reading this wonderful book, because if I start reading it now, I won't be doing my work (and that is rather tempting right now).
Really, need to get back to writing up my stuff... really. I got to hide this book for a couple of weeks.
