I did read that (he posted it to my journal, too).

On the first point:

War is not Christian. Throughout the history of the "Just War" theory of war, I don't think more than a few wars can be classified as "just" according to Augustine's critera. Perhaps not even one.

On the second point:

There ARE commands in the New Testament for those who are rich. All of them involve giving away one's wealth - generously, to those who don't deserve it.
