Clutch depressed, shifting into first gear I hit the garage door opener
Inside the garage rests a red toyota
The vehicle driven by my idol, my best friend, my momma
She's done so much for me that text can't define
It's hard to imagine encompassing a fraction of it in this rhyme
Her words alone can stop the hands of time
Everything she does, so sublime
Her wisdom's beyond even her own understanding
She's the only reason I'm still standing
The catalyzation of all of my planning
The simple little things she does each day
I never take any for granted, but I rarely say
I love you mom
I should, but over using the term can limit its power
My yellow bird, the golden lotus flower
She's all of the above and more, the foundation of this tower
The tower is me
I lean and sway
Sometimes come close to falling
Never. Momma's foundation is astounding
Even if it were compromised
She would catch my fall without flinching
These words will mean a lot to her
But not nearly as much as she means to me
She sets me free
Shows me how to use my wings
Opens my eyes to a world many don't see
The beauty in everything
The portrait of our existence
In this instance
More beautiful than words, paint, or even perception can define
All these words leading to one greater meaning
An attempt to show my momma what she means to me
Everything
The only thing
Love you momma.
Your pain will dissipate and that's a promise.
Pain can't last long vs. someone so flawless.
