There was a time, it seemed that Apple could do no wrong. Everyone was lapping up whatever they threw out. From iPods and iPads to iPhones. They even got me to convert to upgrading my phone every two years, and paying a handsome sum of money for it.

However, I have found the last few updates and upgrades rather lacklustre. It actually means something for me, a fanboy who has been using Apple products since the late-1980s. So, compounded by the low stock levels, I am dragging my feet with the latest iPhone release. Contrast that with the iPhone 5 release, where I actually waited in line to get my phone on the very first day of its release.

What is behind the disenchantment? Perhaps it is Apple's move to the mass market, where it tries to appease the masses and has dumbed things down. The OS X Yosemite is behaving less like a computer OS, and mimicking the smartphone iOS. Surely something is amiss, when something with far more power, ends up masquerading as something pedestrian! I liked iOS originally, because it made a phone act like a computer, but now they are making a computer behave like a phone!

So now, I feel like a techie without a home, without a tech that I can devote to. Yes, it is better to have lost in love, than never to have loved at all. And Apple, my lost love, I wish you well...
