Too Much Of A Good Thing

I suppose Uniqlo is really the Japanese version of Giordano, however, I used to drop by when they still have just a handful of shops in Singapore. Now, they have either lost their plot, or are getting greedy. They seem to be opening up stores at all sorts of places. Soon, Uniqlo will compete with Giordano, literally having a shop in every mall possible.

I wonder which marketing guru came up with this strategy, since it just dilutes and cheapens your product. Not only will you turn people off buying your clothes as it gets too common (lacking the cool factor), the efficiency of each shop will drop. After all, how many people in Singapore need to buy an item from Uniqlo every day?
