Is More Truly Better?

I am still puzzled by the government policy on population. While I agree that the local population is not reproducing themselves, and that would lead to fewer working adults having to support more retirees, it does not mean that we have to grow the population!

The current population growth from liberal immigration policies goes beyond pure replacement. Do we really need so many people?

I think the powers that be must be confused why when we, supposedly having one of the best education systems (by international surveys), produce such an unproductive and disengaged workforce, resulting in ever-receding productivity.

However, could the general disengagement have something to do with how things are done in Singapore? It is always a top-down approach, so it is inevitable that the average person feels disenfranchised.

It seems that the government has not realized that the cheese has moved. The people are saying enough is enough, but the government is still thinking it is about communicating (shoving it down their throats).

Yes, they worry about people doing irrational things like voting in an under-equipped and inexperienced opposition, but as long as they refuse to listen, they run the risk of going the way of the do-do bird.
