Knowing What You Ask For

I have interacted with people who were of the position that the Singapore government should confiscate all private country clubs and make them accessible to all Singaporeans.

Little do they realize that with these perks come the responsibility of keeping it a viable entity. This means that subscription fees are part of being a member, whether or not one uses the facilities. Then there is also the case of minimum spending at food & beverage outlets. These things do stack up, and are not cheap.

So it seems like these people seem to want to have the cake and to eat it as well... Most will baulk at the monies to be paid by each member of a club!
