2012 has been an interesting year so far, but has left me without much time to bother planning my vacations. Four months into the year, the only vacation time I have chalked up is the enforced leave I took during the Lunar New Year.
Decided not to join some acquaintances on a trip to Tanzania and Rwanda. Not that it would not be exciting, but because I was not too sure how I would gel with the rest of the group. As with all group trips, travel companions can make or break the trip, so I was not going to leave that to chance.
A friend is interested in a trip to México towards the end of the year. Yes, it would be my fourth trip there if I make it. I am proposing Los Cabos, Guadalajara, Mexico City and Oaxaca. They are foodies, so I would have to plan the trip around food.
Los Cabos, I have not been before, so I will have to research on. Guadalajara's highlight would be a trip to La Rojeña, the location of the José Cuervo distillery in the town of tequila. Would also visit Tlaquepaque from Guadalajara, on possibly a trip on the Tequila Express. Mexico City would cover Café de Tacuba, Restaurante Los Girasoles, Pujol and Izote and a trip to Taxco and Teotihuacan. For Oaxaca, Restaurante Cathedral, Maria Bonita and Casa Oaxaca await...
