Who's Island Is It Anyway?

While I can understand married folk who are risk-adverse and who do not want to rock the boat, I really do not understand the marginalized and the people who constitute a minority voice who seek the same.

Many thing work against a single or gay, who is technically single (since gays cannot legally wed in Singapore). Yet, many choose to remain happy-go-lucky, and prefer not to rock the boat. Little do they realize that with that simple decision, they disempower themselves in any forum.

Not every gay who thinks about politics is about pushing forward the gay agenda, just like not every Muslim is a JI extremist. If you as a marginalized person will not even fight for your rights, how do you even expect someone who is trying to raise a family?

If you think that the consequences will be beyond your lifetime, remember that it took a miraculous short time to transform the essentially socialist ideals of state to one of elitism and capitalism.
