Religion
Sometimes, I wonder if people who subscribe to a certain religious belief, do so because they believe that it is true, or that it is a mere psychological crutch. Since many religious teachings are open to personal interpretation, how many actually think it through, and how many merely try to manipulate into something that suits what they want (or get manipulated by others)? It can be really amazing to watch seemingly objective and analytical people, completely leave logic and reasoning outside the door, in the name of religion. I guess Singapore is not that far removed from the fanatical hotbeds of the world...
