Retail Therapy

Jan 19, 2008 23:18

Did some retail therapy in a bid to get myself out of depression. Ending up buying a brand new scanner (who on earth uses them these days?), a replacement point-and-shoot for the one I lost in New Hampshire, two DVDs and a CD.

litturateur quizzed me on the utility of the scanner. I answered that it was to scan the CD covers that are not already on the internet, for me to place into iTunes during my CD archival work. Besides, I still have a ton of slides that I need to archive, from my Mexico, Guatemala and Peru trips. Yes, some of them are approaching ten years old, but some are really special to me.

The DVDs? Well, one is "The Italian", about a Russian orphan's search for his mother; and the other is "Sophie Scholl", about the young German girl who stood against the power of the Third Reich.

Also managed to find "Männersachen" by Roger Cicero! :)
