Wow, I vanished for a long time. Since before spring break. Hmm.
Right now I'm baffled. Some how it got down to forty-five or fifty degrees last night, and I had the windows open because it had been a hot day and it was raining. What the fuck? And today's high is sixty-one and tonight's low is thirty-eight. This is our December weather...
Qua?
Let's see if I can track down the highlights of time.
Spring break was pretty good, all things considering. I spent all my non-work hours hanging out with Nico and Sarah, sans one day, which was a blast. Also hanging out with Owen. For the most part, I really like the people I've gotten to know in Savannah. Of course, some more than others, but I'm kinda relieved that I don't feel like I've left all the awesome people behind and found no cool new people. I've found some awesome people. Awesome like a beast.
Classes have been going really well, and are starting to wrap up. We're on our final projects. I'm loving the process of 2D animation far more than I was expecting, and might focus more on that than 3D (guess I'll just wait for the 3D class and find out). The professors are all excellent. Concept Development is/was an incredibly helpful class. Occasionally I get frustrated in History of Animation because we get assignments that feel a bit more like busy work, but I like the was he presents the information.
All in all, things are good. Looking forward to summer though. Get a bit more time off.
For most of the semester, I worked Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at least eight hours each, and had Tuesday and Thursday off because I was in school from eight am to seven-thirty pm. And after than, on Tuesdays, I D&D'd until eleven or midnight. I've been hella busy. But fortunately, not really falling behind on homework. It's amazing. Would have been closer to now, but a week or two ago, I asked if I could have a third day off each week so I could get more work done. It kinda worked out, in the way our crazy scheduling always is.
This summer may be insane.
Looking forward to seeing Guns (and Sam) at some point. Can't wait to get some time off and go down to Florida. If I have enough time, maybe I'll find some way to hunt down Nico and make him give us a hoverboat tour of the everglades. Or something. Many fun times will be had.
Khan is doing really well. He's actually missing his last checkup that I need to schedule, so he can get cleared and I can buy his heartworm-prevention pills...soooo not going through that again...
But he's healthy and happy, and a dog, and I'm glad I have him.
Lorb and Rob are planning on moving back to Oklahoma in December. It was good times, still be good times until then, but people need to do what makes 'em happy. I was a little nervous about it for a couple days, but hadn't got to bring it up because of scheduling. Was worried about not being able to cover a 425 rent during the slow season, and also if Kabby would still be sticking around, but Sarah and I were talking about houses and roommates and things yesterday, and she seems really enthused about moving in at some point.
Kinda surprised me, in a good way, as I thought she really wanted to keep her apartment (it's a cool little one and near Forsyth), but Nico's apparently going straight into grad school, so she'll end up paying seven-hundred something rent on her own for a long time.
So I'm really excited, because Sarah's one of the most awesome people I've met here. As is Nico, and he visits not not often. Plus all of Sarah's SCAD friends that I hang out with too sometimes are good people...and all like hugs...which is kinda strange after being around a lot of no-touchy people for a while, but kinda nice, because a good hug is nice, in a strange simple way.
That seems to be mostly it, other than little work updates...we got new horses and a new barn...super cool.
I'm doing well, things are good, can't wait for the summer, and plan to do some independent animating and ordering more plexi to do more 3D drawing things.
I think I missed LJ a bit...give me a chance to think about things that have happened in a less passing way.
And when the summer hits, I'll probably be on AIM more (or at all) as well. Talking to people, hooray!
