Back to real life

I'm still winnowing my 80 pictures from Friday (down to 65, but adding half a dozen of my sister's), and pulling my swatch out of my pocket to show everyone. (It's a about 2.5" square; I folded it to fit in the watch pocket of my jeans, and it's interesting how well it holds a crease.)

A more demanding trip than I like to do in 3 days; Sunday after showing up for choir it was a big deal to do as much as rinse out the thermos of curdled coffee. Monday I would have treated as a normal workday, but due to the holiday and snow I didn't show up for either job but mostly dealt with snow (shoveling and snowshoeing) (a busload of people organized by the Lake Placid Center for the Arts went to The Gates for the day, a very long day, and I'm anxious to hear if they saw it in snow). Today though I was fully back at it; both jobs (the transcription job is ahead of me again after several surprising weeks when I was caught up; the reading job is increasing hours, and I borrowed a book on the Metropolitan Museum's holdings in anticipation of going back), the community chorus rehearsal, and driving the new ambulance for the first time: I'm responsible for its weekly check next month, so I went over it today with one of the guys who helped set it up, and found that a major test of the OLD equipment wasn't on the checklist and I hadn't even seen it done in my 7 years... setting off an actual shock (on special plates on its battery charger) with the defibrillator paddles! So we had to sit down and draft explicit instructions to fit on the checklist, and my head spun... I meant to take a bath and go to bed early, but as usual, nothing doing.
