While the rest of us are dealing with typical Seattle winter weather, the boys are training hard in Florida . In theory.

Is this the soccer gods getting back at me for wishing that we would eventually have a usmnt player on our team.

BECAUSE I MEANT KELYN ROWE, DAMNIT, NOT JOHNSON. AND I DID NOT MEAN FOR ANYONE TO ACTUALLY GET TRADED EITHER.

I watched his rookie video that the Revs put out like a week ago, and I couldn't help thinking every other minute "YOU COULD HAVE BEEN IN SEATTLE, YOU COULD HAVE BEEN HOME, DOING ALL OF THESE THINGS WITH US ;~;" Ugh.

I think you're right. God, I am such a mess rn, and this just makes me want to sob in a corner even more. We just had to trade the Federal Way kid off...

HE WILL COME. SOMEDAY~~~~

I hate it so much. I am far too attached to homegrown kids, but THEY'RE NOT SUPPOSE TO LEAVE ANYWAY. :( MLS needs to start implementing some homegrown player regulations tbqh.

YES. I have hopes he'll defect back to us, one of these days. It's just meant to be. =(

It just makes it worse, especially since our academy & youth squads are still younger (at least compared to other teams). I really wanted Neagle to stay here for his whole career and win stuff with us.

Thankfully there's pretty much a 99% chance he will, right? Gah.

At least we have that for our future. AND NO, FO, YOU CANNOT TRADE THEM ALL OFF. :| Same, same. I could have seen him as captain in the future even. :(

I really hope so! This totally has no basis in reality, but I'm thinking that, if Fredy does go off to Europe after this upcoming season, we'll need someone who can fit in the CAM position AND THEN WE CAN STEAL HIM BACK FROM THE REVS.

The flipside is that Rowe could have a breakout season and then NE won't ever give him up or ship him to Europe but I refuse to think about that rn.

The academy boys already hate on Portland on their twitter accounts, so we're obviously teaching them important life skills. They're practically Sounders already, haha. omg, Neagle as captain...that would have been like Keller so much, hometown boy leading his team to glory...*bawls*

He can't go I wont let him no no no no not Fredy never Can't we just have everyone I mean it'd be perfect really. But I'm totally down with any stealing plots in case of further transfer tragedy.

Ugh it would be so cool if he did well and went off to Europe to kick more ass but STILL why can't we have nice things :( and no to NE keeping him they're not allowed to.

Hating on Portland should be the first thing taught to all players and children here tbqh. And their twitters are lovely. Yes yes yes yes, and just wahh ;___;

I DON'T WANT FREDY TO LEAVE EITHER. :'( But if he did, I could probably understand the reasoning behind it better than shipping off Neagle and Fucito ugh.

NE aren't even that good and yet somehow they seem to have a lot of my favorite players on their team. whyyyyy. *sniff*

UGH I feel like less players would leave MLS for Europe if our season was at the same time as BASICALLY EVERY OTHER LEAGUE IN THE WORLD. ;___; (story of the U.S. tbqh) Since we're playing during major tournaments and such it makes it harder for players to play international without leaving behind their club. Stupid. But yeah, I could understand Fredy leaving I just don't want him to. :(

lol that's so unfortunate. :|

That is very true. I really wish that there were a way for MLS to somehow have an easier schedule during the parts of the season where there's international competitions. =( I think the fact that Europe also has the Champions League (as much as I like to pretend the CCL isn't still taken as a joke by a lot of other CONCACAF countries...well... you can't really compare the two :(( ) plays a big role in that.

He only gets to leave us once we win all the trophies there is to win. END OF STORY.

Yeah, our planning around them is rather terrible. Definitely. While the CCL is a good way to go up against half of the world's bests, it's not the same. Both CCL and MLS are still relatively young though, so I guess we'll see how things change. I just think the stupid MLS schedule is just that - stupid. Are there any other leagues that play through the summer?

If he ever does leave, IA, he has to win ALL THE TROPHIES with us. Which means he can't leave next season, oops. Ha ha.
