couch drama

She looks like this: http://www.ikea.com/PIAimages/32947_PE096269_S3.jpg

We had to put our clothes we wore yesterday and the kitties' blankies on it
as if to say "Accept the couch. It already smells like us. It's not a stranger.
Dont pee on it!!" Reminds me of getting an organ not to reject. "Recognize this as self!"

It worked! Success.
They greeted us with yawns sleeping on it this morning.
It was nice and dry, but we had garbage bags underneath the blankies
just in case. Don't trust a repeat offender!

It took us about 3 hours to get to the couch location, to tie it in to Daisy's minivan-
oh, we had to go in her house for the keys bc they were all in bed,
and we couldn't remove the car seats, because they are perfectly balanced
calibrated, and checked by the police---
so the couch hung out of the van about a foot or so....
and we took the PCH all the way back up...then had to rouse a neighbor at 11 ish pm to
get it upstairs...we now owe him beer....
and then get the van back to Daisy's, putting the keys back inside without waking them up.
The door says "Fault Front Door" and beeps when you open it.
Then I realized I had hit the button that left the interior lights on...so I had to
open the damn door again, get the keys again, beep the car alarm off again,
turn off the lights, then beep the alarm on, open the noisy door again, and relock the front door. I doubt the adults slept through all that.

A long night, but satisfying. Whew.
