I'm really lucky mine is one of the companies offering *incentives* not penalties. Well, our health insurance plan does. Curves is a partner gym, so I get part of my monthly fees reimbursed. They give us points for good BP, good (low) cholesterol, not smoking (blood test required to confirm), going to the gym, etc. Then you can use the points for stuff, from movie theater passes to VCR's, cameras, DVD's, toys, home & garden stuff, etc.

I didn't watch the whole show (rarely do because people on there annoy me), but Dr. Phil was about these really obese people that the families basically abandoned and the fiance taking up the slack to care for the 650 pound woman was abusive. This new Clarion thing sounds just as abusive.

OTOH, companies are paying more and more for health care, and it doesn't surprise me that they're looking to pass off that cost to those causing it to rise. As an obese person, I know my health costs are higher than someone who's slimmer and healthier and doesn't go to the doctors with new maladies all the time. Then again, our office manager is a breast-cancer survivor and kidney transplantee - and has mega health care costs. And she's not obese. So the costs are not all on the fatties and smokers.
