Nate randomly wanted to go to the Y (MCA) and so we did. He got a membership, and we've been once since. I am paranoid about my knee. I've done 4 visits of physical therapy, 3 of which seemed to do nothing. On the last visit, I told her nothing was helping and she gave me some new stretches, which seem to be helping.
I haven't done a long hike in a while to test, so I sure wasn't going to go running, as per usual, at the gym. I tried the hated elliptical machine. I have avoided it in the past because I am flat out uncoordinated and always feel like I'm about to fall off the thing. But this time, I tried it since I figured it would be least likely to bug my knee.
So I've done it twice now. 25 minutes at slow two weeks ago, and 30 minutes of ~11 minute mile last night. It feels great! Although I'll never get used to being forced into symmetrical and rhythmic footfalls. But it beats nothing!
