well, i accidentally had a week off due to some bug that made me extremely tired all week and gave me a low grade fever. I finally went out again Friday. I hadn't been wearing the shoes around daily during this week, either.
I had a popped blister from the time before, and I was feeling it again this time. I turned the speed down a bit (~13 minute miles), but I managed two miles. At the end I had the familiar hot feeling on the outsides of my big toes and at the top of the pad of my foot, right below my 2nd toe. Blisters again!
Day after, though, all my muscles are feeling good. I think if I can just get some calluses on my feet I'll be good to run more than 2 miles. I might need to keep wearing the vibrams during the week (investing in some more toe socks...). I noticed after one of my previous runs that the muscles used walking seem very different from the barefoot flying/running, but I'm wondering how contact the barefoot running parts of my feet hit the ground when I'm walking.
Another thing I've been thinking about, is previous vacations that I've had where I've walked waaaaaay more than a day to day habit. I've had very tired feet. I wonder if it would be that way if I did that now. I read a blog somewhere about someone who backpacks in his vibrams. That would be *awesome*.
