TCGs - ah, what a good way to flush money down the drain! I have been playing TCGs since 1995 when 4th Edition MTG came out, and even though i play magic very rarely, i still play Yugioh. I complete in card tournaments occasionaly(i have won one local MTG tournament, and a Demo tournament for the game Duel Masters). Yugioh is probobly my favorite of the TCGs, but at the same time it also causes me the most pain. Unfortunatly, all my friends have stopped playing TCGs so im left to go to the game store to play with random people. One thing i do note is whhen i play TCGs, i tend to go odd strategies that people dont think of, and make decks that go against the norm. Currently i have the following decks made for variousgames. MTG: Holy Plague deck(Black/White Pestilence), Reality Warp(Blue/White or Blue/Green Deck involving word altering cards like Mind Bend). Yugioh: Morphtronics, Fortune Ladies, Horus/Jinzo Lock, Dark Destruction. Duel Masters: Light/Darkness Swarm deck
Tabletop RPGs: This should be Tabletop Games. This is another time waster for me. besides the TCGs, i am also a heavy D&D player. I currently only have one group i really play with(Since i cant seem to get my offline friends to call me when they play). This is something i have been doing since the late 80s, and started with a game called
DragonStrike. Later i moved on to Dungeons and Dragons and was one of the major players in whats considered the first MMO, NeverWinter Nights. When that ended, i got heavily in to the Paper and Pencil version of D&D in its First Edition incarnation. Honestly, as D&D progresssed, it tended to get worse. I think the current edition of it is better then the previous two in terms of balance, but now it feels too much like an MMO and not like the game i use to enjoy. besides D&D, i also Play Rifts, Exalted, Mutants and Masterminds, Warhammer Fantasy, Dominion, World of Darkness(well, one session anway) and various other board games like monopoly, Catan and Stratego.
BOTVGH: I followed a friend to this community when HC was wrapping up the final season when another game i use to play died out. I thought the idea of the place was cool, a small community who write a 'reality show' fanfic with all sorts of video game characters all stuck on an island. I even had an episode made, but it got lost and the community has changed to something else(See Boss Battles below). The group has changed over the years and there is always some sort of major drama going on, but i like everyone there. My only wish for the community is for people to stop arguing with each other and getting bent out of shape when ever someone makes a stupid mistake, even if they constantly do it. Ass long as they are genuinely sorry, its shouldn't be a big deal. Maybe also try to convince HC to start up the stories again after a reboot :P
Boss Battles: This is what BOTVGH is used for now. It use to be a story telling community, but now all we do are these games called Boss Battles. Its kind of like a mud, but it has a lot more user interaction and requires a lot more host input(for just about everything). I have set aside time just to be here, but recently, with everyonee arguing and the recent turn out issues, im wondering if maybe its timee i tried to find something else. Honestly speaking, Most of the battles now are either going too long because people are busy doing other things during the battle, arguing with other people over a move that could have been made 5 minutes sooner, or just the general lack of luck with the RNG. If things keep going the way they are, i might just stop battling all together. I know conflict and arguing go with the game, but the sheer amount of it makes me sick. if i want drama i'll just go to #EmoTeens.
My cats - I have had 6 cats in my life, and i only really remember 5 of them. My mother likes having them around and i don't mind them too much, i would prefer a turtle or a hamster, or something i can keep in a cage or aquarium that wont run around and wake me up in the middle of the night. keisha is my favorite of the cats, but she is also the most bitchey. She was an alley cat a friend of my moms found and asked us to take ccare of since our old cat died. That like 23 years ago and she hasnt changed much other then a missing limb. She only eats people food(boiled chicken breast, steak, shrimp are her favorites as well as asparagus and creamed corn) and hates other animals with a passion. She use to be an outdoor cat with a 3 or 4 block territory, but now all she does is hang around inside on my mothers bed. I know i joked a few times in IRC about how she almost killed a dog twice the size of her, but is true. She is a bit more tolerant then she use to be, but it also looks like she might be dieing soon. Then again, its looked this way for years now.
