Fanime Con 2023 day 1
Today, Friday May 26 was day 1 of Fanime Con 2023. The theme this year was the post office or mail carriers. Kind of late since anime like Letter Bee has been off the air for over decade now.
I did not go to the swap meet but I did go to the dealers room after seeing opening ceremonies at Stage Zer0. Dealing with a foot injury slowed me down and limited my ability to get around like I used to. Video Programming was moved to the Double Tree this year and that meant I would have to take a shuttle bus to go. They announced that the Music Fest was cancelled this year because the performing acts could not leave Japan.
Went to an 18+ panel hosted by the husband/wife cosplay duo Aicosu. They read hentai manga but with random comedic voice impressions in place of the actual characters. So, for exmple. reading eromanga lines in Squidward's voice or Owen Wilson's voice or Weevil from the Yuugioh 4kids English dub. Or Jerry Seinfeld's voice lol.
Went to an evening panel on horror anime and manga that was rated 18+.
They showed some really interesting titles. Some I'd seen but others I have not.
