For those of you that don't know, I work here now; having gotten out of the eyeball/retail world.

I also work directly with blood every day. I wear a lot of gear to keep that blood away from me. The blood we use has not been screened for everything under the sun by the time we process it; we have to process it a lot faster than test results occur.

One of the services that the company offers is the Designated Transplant Program, basically if someone needs the service, it's free.

These things are labeled when they hit the Lab, so we know which ones are going out right after we're done with them. And a fuck up anywhere in the process can ruin someones chances of a successful transplant.

Which means, among other things, someones life.

The wigs at the company go overboard with this idea a bit, but its there, and it's real. I fuck up, kid dies. Possibly a long drawn out battle with leukemia or cerebral palsy, but the end result is a dead kid; the rosiest picture is one locked in a wheelchair drooling on himself the rest of their life.

So I'm not sure what the point of this post was, but lets just say I had some steam to vent.

And I like my job.
