I made sure Lindsey and I were the first ones to the conference room. Punctuality is a good thing, but I've always been of the opinion that arriving early is even better. I was almost surprised by how nervous I wasn't. One day, and I'd already began to settle into my new position. Lindsey and I were getting along well enough. He didn't seem to be particularly enthusiastic about much of anything (the upcoming meeting included), but I was sure that sooner or later, he would end up revealing to me the reason why the Senior Partners chose him as one of our new CEOs.
I took the liberty to seat myself near the head of the long conference table, gesturing for Lindsey to take a seat beside me. There wasn't much left to do except to wait for Miss Morgan and Hamilton himself to show up. I was almost positive that they would arrive at two o'clock on the dot. Hamilton didn't seem like the type to be early or late, merely... excruciatingly punctual.
As we waited, I turned my attention back to Lindsey, noting that he'd been quiet for some time now. "You haven't said much since we got here," I pointed out, leaning back in my chair and folding my hands in this lap. "Do you plan on speaking up during the meeting, or will I have to do all the talking? Not that I mind, but this might be an opportune time to put your two cents in."
