I thought I'd stop in for just a minute to give an update on how surgery went. Reading makes me a bit nauseous, so I can't be on the computer long. Stupid drugs.
Anyway. It was a bit more complicated than they'd expected, and I ended up being admitted to hospital. Apparently my gallbladder was completely filled with gallstones, so it's a good thing I went in when I did. Otherwise, I could have had big problems. Still, it made the surgery a bit more difficult. There was also a lot more pain and the drugs weren't working too well at first, so they admitted me.
The first night was interesting. I had a roomie. She was a very sweet 78-year-old. I think I heard her entire life story--she talked almost the entire time, even the middle of the night. The nurse actually had to tell her that I needed to rest. LOL I'm not sure how much I understood of what she said--I was pretty much out of it. Anyway, her husband--they'd been married 52 years--was very sweet too, even if he did show up at 5:30 in the morning.
Roomie #1 was released from the hospital in the morning, and within an hour, I had a new roomie, who was 82. I never actually talked to her, but she was even more of a talker than the first one. Actually, she was more of a complainer than a talker. I was more than ready to go home.
So, they released me and let me go home Wednesday night. I'm VERY sore, but doing okay. I don't expect to be 100% for a week or two.
That's my update! A HUGE thanks to the OWL staff, who sent the loveliest flower arrangement. It was so nice to come home and see them. I enjoy looking at them during the day. They're just gorgeous. *glomps the OWL staff -- very carefully* You guys are awesome!
Okay. Need to stop before all this reading makes me sick. Hope all is well with you!
