So. Um. Yeah. Not been around much. Sorry! I'm way behind now on the exchange fics. Somewhere around ten, I think. *headdesk* But I will catch up! *is determined* I've been leaving the longer ones for the last two or three weeks, thinking I would save them for later ... which is how I've ended up behind. Sigh. I've really enjoyed this round. There has been some amazing fic, as well as fabulous art! What about you? Any faves?
I may actually get further behind this week. Why, you ask? (All right, you probably didn't, but humor me.) Because I am WRITING. I am taking the entire week to finish up Heart and Soul. There are only two chapters left, probably 1/4 of the next one is written, and the last chapter is complete (in my head, anyway, if that makes sense). I have GOT to get this thing done and off my plate. It's taken so long that it's ridiculous. It just always take me a while to get back into Luna's head.
Speaking of Luna, no, I will not be taking part in the Snuna exchange. Bribery, threats, and coercion will have no effect. ;) Really, I can't write Severus with anyone else, and though I've read a few (i.e. two) Snunas that were well-written and enjoyed them ... well, to be honest, I just have a really hard time buying the pairing. But that's just me. :D I've noticed, however, that some fabulous members of my f-list saying that they've joined, so I will definitely be reading! Can't wait to see what you all do with the pairing!
Let's see, what else. Well. *cringes* I've been avoiding this discussion because I know how some of you feel about it, but ... oh well. First, read
this post at
smellyia's LJ to explain my fascination with Twilight fanfiction. (Hope it's all right that I linked, smellyia!) Really, she says exactly what I think, so rather than me rewriting it ... *iz lazy* So, anyway, I've been a tad obsessed with the idea of using Twilight fanfic to "practice" writing more original fic. I try to add some original elements to my HP stuff (usually via fleshing out minor characters a bit), but yet I feel the need to stay within JKR's limitations. I dislike a lot of what SMeyer did with her series, and I think because of that that, I feel more freedom to play around with it, especially if one goes all human. I have three bunnies nibbling at my heels, and first chapters for all three. *headdesk* My enabler
ginny_weasley31 has fueled this idea since last summer, and now it's really starting to blaze out of control. I just HAVE to try this. Have to get it out of my system. To force myself to finish something facilitate this, I agreed to co-mod a Twilight exchange with Ginny. *blinks* I know! She was shocked when she brought it up and I said okay, I'd help. LOL
Anyway, if you're interested, check out
twi_exchange. Sign ups began today and are running through March 1. Prompts will be at before March 13, with fics due June 1. Posting begins July 1. At the very least, it will be interesting! *wibbles*
I know I still have two outstanding SSHG fics, as well, but at least I wasn't posting on the archives, they were just here and f-locked. But, I do promise that I will definitely finish both All or Nothing and Between the Sand and Stone. I will! Pinky swear!
Um. And that's about it. Kids are home from school today, so I'm taking them to see Coraline this afternoon. Should be fun!
Hope you are all well!
