This is a wonderful feeling of relief and ease you've captured with this story. Yes, knowing you don't have to explain a complicated past to someone can mean the world. My favorite line was Snape noting that he hadn't asked for the definitive article.

This short fic is sweet inthat two folks with the same problem meet and have an immediate understanding. The pub staff is amusing, as well as their take on The Prince and the turn of events when Jean becomes his waitress.

This is lovely. Just effortlessly written, with a very natural flow of the dialogue and plot. Perfectly in character for both and sort of...simple in the very best way. Everything just unfolding slowly and at a relaxed pace, with just the right amount of humour. Really, really enjoyed it. One of my favourites so far.
