when you can leave a meeting and look at your reflection,
unable to prevent smiling because you feel so whole, so revived, so full of life
you know you've found home.
Women for Sobriety is probably the best thing that has ever happened to me.
i have never been more grateful, more loving, more in love with all that i have
and all that i have to give.
All love given returns.
when you can be told by the women around you that you've touched them
that you've made them stronger by showing your weakness,
when you can open the discussion for a meeting, "letting the cat out of the box"
you know you've found home.
it gives me strength, it gives me hope, it's given me a new life.
i can't fucking wait to go to inpatient.
and i thank everyone around me, especially my momma, ashley, anthony, lizziebee, aleks, carla, and of course emily for
helping me to get to where i am right now.
Palahniuk's right about one thing:
"In the big factory of perfecting human souls the Earth [is] a kind of tumbler. The same kind people use to polish rocks. All souls come here to rub the sharp edges off each other. All of us, we're meant to be worn smooth by conflict and pain of every kind. To be polished... This [isn't] suffering, [it's] erosion. It [is] just another, a basic, an important step in the refining process."
