Among the largest butterflies in the world, the Morpho peleides butterfly lives on average only a hundred and fifteen days. They can be found in the tropical forests of Latin America from Mexico to Colombia. As larvae they will chew most leaves, although they prefer those of plants in the pea family. As adults they survive on the juices of rotting fruit, the fluids of decomposing animals, tree sap, fungi and wet mud. Their vivid, iridescent blue coloring is a result of the microscopic scales on the backs of their wings, which reflect light and the brown colour of the undersides of their wings, along with the eyes are camouflage against natural predators such as birds and insects.

Ryou you should at least call Okaa-san if you're not going home for the break.
