it's rant....
It's absolutely amazing....Cuddy....a character that's been presented as strong(she's a female administrator,you gotta be strong for that), thinking of the hospital as her baby and always ready to spar with House,overruling him when his treatments got too....radical and not getting annoyed with his sexist remarks.Obviously,since she kept dressing in less and less. I guess I'm one of those four people that didn't see sexual tension,perhaps because I just watched the show for the medicine and House and didn't analyze all the apparent subtext. I saw them as equal opponents with respect towards each other(though well hidden in House's case) and underlying friendship since they've known each other for years.
Anyway,I liked her role in season 1 but I wasn't too fond of the baby arc in season 2,mostly because I thought she would ask House to be the donor and I absolutely refuse to watch the show if he decides to be the dad.Only thing that would be missing at that point is a long lost daughter...although with the way they're going,I wouldn't be surprised if 13 was his LLD...:P
Anyway,in s3 she freaked out during Tritter arc and started losing backbone,ok,she lost it after the season 2 finale I think, and became a sort of...well let's just say a blow-up doll with ability to say "no,you can't do that" could easily be fit into her place.To put it in a more appropriate term,she became an object. The only time where she was sort of like the old Cuddy was in WAD when she told House everybody is wors-off for him being there. It was spoken in anger of course but still,where is that character now?
Then in s4 she couldn't make House hire a team,she couldn't make him to stop with the 'Survivor arc',she fell for his game,couldn't even overrule him on medical decisions anymore,and season 5 just isn't any better,She's a freaking doormat(except for one time when House actually made sense with his demand and then she decided to put guards in front of patient's room. And now this...he kissed her and she just kissed back when she should just slap himand kick him out of her apartment...what kind of basis for a relationship is this?Unless we're talking about abusive husband,submissive wife because that's really all they came to...and I must say,Wilson does a better job at exasparated wife.;) But seriously,I just don't buy it although some people liked it,but if someone ships two characters,they'll like anything between them so I guess I'm not surprised.:P
