Anyone read Erving Goffman's book Stigma? I have to read is as part of the course-along with many,many other (excerpts from)books. But this is the first one I actually took greater interest in. Then Foreman leaving and that little speech at the end of Human Error. I couldn't blame the guy for not wanting to turn into House, he didn't see him socially, he only saw the way House acted and spoke at work and reacted to that image. That fake-cancer didn't really help either.

Again, I agree. That same person on tv.com commented that Foreman had delusions od grandeur if he was under the impression that he was turning into House. He was so far from House as he could be. True, he doesn't reach House in terms of brilliance (who does?), but they certainly share traits with House. They're both arrogant and confident (or was, until Foreman cracked in Family), they're not team players, and they're both stubborn and stand up for what they do. He's certainly the one of the three ducklings who is mostly similar to House. It's not for fun that they had that ep where they even wore the same kinds of shoes, to underline how similar they were in certain ways.

I liked Foreman too, because he was the only one who wasn't affraid to take an argument with House. And House loved it, and respected Foreman for it. I found their debates very fascinating. The only time I didn't understand Foreman was when he in Acceptance accuses House of being a racist because he trickced the black patient into taking the medicine targeted at black people, because surprise, genetics can vary. Foreman calls him Massa and says he's doing what white people always do, thinking that the black man doesn't understand so they need to make the decisions for them. Well, in this case the black patient was explained the reason, and STILL refused to understand that one meds was better for him than another. If anything, he was the one being racistic towards white people, believing they were all out to get him. House simply refused to let the guy die because he was a stubborn moron, and I completely undetstood House on this one.

well if Laurie played Foreman and vice versa, I think that would be the case.;)

Btw, I did NOT like the fake cancer stunt. Not at all. I realize that it was meant to show how bad he was feeling, but really, House, start TALKING to people instead of setting up all these weird mind games. Just, open your mouth. Stop being so emo and "no one understands me" . It's beneath you :(

There's definitely not the level of confidence and trust there was between H and W in the first seasons anymore. Had many of the things from s. 3 happened in s. 1, they would have played out differently. Wilson doesn't know that House is away in Airborne? That would NEVER have happened in s. 1.

I also think that House is a big reason for Wilson' depression(heh,not necessarily the unrequited love thing,House is perfectly capable to make a person suicidal even if there are no romantic feelings involved;) )

As someone else said, House is a source of massive trauma, and that seems to be the case for Wilson.
