Well, what a dumbass I am. I just figured out the other day how to finally get Zelda's Homerun Contest past 1100!
And it was terribly easy. You know when you play computer Zelda how all she does is that cheap-ass tripping move? Yeah, well you can do that on the sandbag all day and it doesn't bounce away. So I added that move to my homerun routine, and WHAM I broke 1000 easy.
What I do is I start by doing the walking (forward+A) move (the swing). That send the bag behind you. So I immediately turn around and do it again to send the bag back to the center. Then I grab the bat and run over to the sandbag and begin to pummel it with the (down+A) trip-kick. When I have half a second left, then I swing the bat to send it off. It's at about 60 percent when I swing, generally.
Best distance: 1172.
So THEN I go to GameFAQS and read up on the homerun faqs to see if anyone else did that.
BUT NO ONE DOES THAT ON GAMEFAQS!
They have these heinous "throw the baseball bat" combos they use.. they look to be insane and difficult to pull off. I haven't bothered trying any of them... but sheesh. I even downloaded this movie of Zelda doing the contest using that method... and she didn't even break 1000!
Screw that shiz. I'm sticking with perfecting my own methods.
And I started this all because my friend beat my Zelda distance WITH PRINCESS TOADSTOOL. UNACCEPTABLE!
