Chapter 20.2 - The Truth (Cont.)
“Stop it, you devil!!!” Jaejoong shouted from distance before jumping to stand between Junsu and Changmin. “What happened here?” He asked quietly to the two.
“Jaejoong, you…you” Changmin and Junsu spoke at the same time shockingly to see Jaejoong without fear standing in front of the monster.
“Buddha Kwan Yi unsealed my memory.” Said Jaejoong shortly. “Now tell me what have happened?” But before the two could answer, the demon king jumped to them as the earth around them started shaking. The three flied backward while Changmin carried Yunho’s on his back.
“Princess” The two bowed down as long as they landed on the ground.
“Princess?” Yunho opened his eyes to see who was called princess.
“Gener… Yunho, are you alright?” Asked Jaejoong worried. Yunho blinked before nodding twice.
“My niece, are you going to greet your uncle?” Asked the devil standing in front of them with his pet, Manda.
“I have no uncle like you.” Jaejoong spoke angrily looking at Siwon’s body fiercely as if his eyes could burn the body.
“Hsssss, how rude? Your father didn’t teach you any manner at all.”
“Stop your barking, today I will finish you off on behalf of my father.” Said Jaejoong seriously before turning himself into his true form, half Human half dragon.
“Jaejoong!!!” Yunho felt shocked seeing Jaejoong with no legs but tail. Jaejoong turned to look at his beloved one, hand caressed his stomach before flying to the sky fighting off his uncle.
“Ahhh…” Yunho screamed when he felt like his head was burning inside. The strange memories were popping up in his head.
“Yunho Hyung!!!” The two called with concern. “Changmin take care of him, I am going to help princess.” Said Junsu while summoning his weapon, a staff.
“I want to fight too” Cried Changmin.
“Stay here…” Said Junsu lastly before flying toward the serpent.
[Yunho’s Flashback]
“General Jung!” The jade emperor began. “Since Pan Gu wrote book of heaven law. There’re no such ‘love’ in this heaven.” He paused staring at the young general intensely to see fear in his eyes, which was none.
“Do you know what your action represents?” The emperor asked.
“It represents my love for Princess.” The young hero said proudly without fear.
“It’s not love but it’s your stubbornness and selfishness.” The emperor hurriedly cut in speaking through his gritting teeth.
“I have faith for my love with princess.” General Jung challenged back. “Without her, my existence is no longer meaningful. However, I am not selfish. I can sacrifice anything for Princess. And I believe princess would do the same. This is our love.”
“I disagree with this.” The old man shouted back as long as general Jung finished. “Do you know your love will lead to the destruction of both of you? If you love her, care for her, you should think of her and forget about this. Why not giving up now.”
“Give up?” Hissed Yunho. “I already gave up the word ‘give up’. I’ve overcome everything just to get here and convince you to accept our love.”
“What is love?” The King asked in mockery tone. “That makes you sacrifice everything, even your immortality.”
“Love is care, concern, acceptance, protecting and understanding each other.” He spoke as he was thinking of his sweet memory with Princess. “It is just like a fiery fire whose flames will never die!”
“Love can encourage two individuals with different minds and backgrounds to stay together.” He spoke as the King was listening to every word seriously. “Being in love, your other half’s well-being is more important than your own. Even till the end of universe it will never change. Eternity!!!”
“Eternity?” The king repeated with questioning tone. “Have you seen the princess condition? Is this your way of loving her? Huh?” the king challenged again. Yunho just kept silent thinking of the pale looking and weak Jaejoong in the dark garden.
“You said you care for her, think of her. Why can’t you stop loving her just for her sake?”
“Why should I stop?” Young general asked back with his little shaking voice.
“Will you be willing to sacrifice yourself just to prove your love for princess?” The King asked once again.
“Yes I will” Yunho answered without thinking twice.
“If you die, what’s going to happen to my daughter?” Yunho became pale by the question that he couldn't think of the reply.
“Will she be able to escape this misery and be happy? Or will she delve into more misery and lead a life that's worse than death?” The king continued his question. “You want her to live in misery forever just because of you! You’re just selfish.” He accused.
Yunho’s stand became shaken by the question. The fear and confusion appeared clearly in his eyes. ‘Am I selfish? What happen to me? Is my love for prince really weak?’ he asked himself. ‘Will our love be defeated because of the Emperor’s question?’
Seeing no response from the younger male, the king stepped forward looking at the nervous teen. “Don’t you have anything to say?” He asked in a victory tone.
“Your majesty, can I ask you a question?” The younger male asked.
“Speak!!!” The emperor said.
“Do you know what is love?”
“Love is just one of emotions of human being. I have no need to experience it.” Said the Emperor.
“Since you have never experienced it, you don’t understand us at all, how can you judge me being selfish? What are gods? If one is fearing of god, he will naturally respect and pray to the gods, but if one does not believe in gods, where will the fear come from?”
“Jung Yunho, you don’t have faith in gods and respect for me?” The king stepped more closely to his general with his right hand pointing at Yunho.
“If you’re an non-feeling deity and heartless jade Emperor, you’re no different from a tyrant” Yunho spoke his mind firmly.
“Do you know what you’re saying?” Questioned the King angrily.
“Have you forgotten what is that stop the dark phoenix from destroying the earth? Was it your absolutes authority or your vicious punishments? None of those two, it was Pan Gu’s nobility plus Hwangwoong’s forgiveness and love that saved earth.”
“Stop!!!” The Emperor shouted. He paused for a while before continuing with an exhausting voice. “Don’t go on anymore.”
“Your majesty, your powers are too mighty. You can abuse them and decide others' fates on your whims and fancies. You’re always doing as you please and forcing your will upon others. You’re truly selfish.” The king’s breaths became uneven because of Yunho’s challenge.
“Even if you have absolute power, you can’t go and change others' fates.”
“Who say I am selfish? Everything that I have done is reasonable.”
“Reasonable? How?” Yunho mocked back.
“Insolent.” Shouted the king angrily. “You know the consequences, aren’t you afraid?”
“Afraid? Isn’t the death the worst that I can befall? If princess dies, I will follow suit.”
“Hell is a dark and terrible place? You’re not afraid?”
“As long as I can be with princess, I don’t care about anything else. Even going to the place that’s darker and more terrible, I don’t care.”
“So you won’t regret it?” Asked the king.
“I won’t” Replied Yunho confidently.
“If you have to die in order to love a person, won’t you be afraid?” The king continued asking.
“No”
“You won’t regret it even if I sentence Princess to death?”
“To hell? As long as I can be with her, I have nothing to be afraid of.”
“Hahahah….” The Emperor laughed as his sound became shaken, a tear dropped from his cheek. “I will grant you your wish.” He said while closing his eyes. The king moved his hand up and Yunho’s figure floated to the air before falling to the place called hell.
Yunho closed his eyes, smiling while his body was lift up by the air before falling down into the deepest place of the earth.
[End of flashback]
When Yunho woke up from his long dream, all he could see and hear were the flashlight and the explosion sound. “Yunho Hyung, are you alright.” Asked Changmin looking at his older male worriedly.
“Where is Princess?” Asked Yunho trying to locate his belove.
“Hyung… you…” Changmin’s eyes and mouth hang open. Yunho just nodded. “Let’s go to help Junsu.” Then he flied to the sky as Changmin followed behind.
