That nostalgic tingling I had...

I was browsing through my portfolio's host's hostees list when I stumbled upon graphic websites that clearly show that their owners are new to photo-editing and webdesigning.

They reminded me of my first days webdesigning :')

I clearly remember that my first intention to make a website was because I saw a website (which has closed) and I was amazed that she could make the links having effects when being hovered, that she could make the cursor change shapes, and that she could make the content of her website fit into a box that can scroll without us having to scroll the whole window of the browser (it was an i-frame, in case you're confused).

From that day, I regularly visit the site, stumbling upon other sites, too, and at the same time learned HTML and CSS. I used Paint because I didn't have Photoshop and that continued for about half a year until I discovered that my father had Photoshop installed in his laptop, which for the next 5 years I continued to use to edit my graphics.

The point is, seeing those websites gave me a sense of nostalgia. I was lucky to be hosted by Janet (owner of X-Tenshi) because when she picked me as a hostee, my website was total crap, it didn't have a purpose. Those websites I saw were also lucky to be hosted by Kya, because not all people would pick beginner/crap websites and host them. Those websites I saw will grow and one day they'll succeed and they might even shine in their own community.

If one day I had a domain name, or a workshop, I'd teach people webdesign. Or maybe, host people who just started on webdesign. Everyone deserves a chance to grow, online and offline :)

online, personal
