Vacation was good.
It was nice to vacation with someone for a chance. Admittedly, I'm a difficult person to vacation with.
My ideal vacation day goes something like this:
6 a.m. -Up for photos)
9 a.m. -Done with photos)
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Naps, reading, lounging and maybe some window shopping.
3 p.m. to 9 p.m. - Photos
After 9 p.m. - Drink and read.
But this was different and it was good.
Driving in Mexico was the most challenging place I've ever driven. The street signs are totally nonsensical. I was very disappointed in the rental car. Sounds and accelerates like a Dodge Neon for twice the price. Needs a deeper first gear. Terrible throttle response. A car with less than 6,000 miles on it shouldn't be smelling like antifreeze. I've always liked the Subaru Imprezzas but if they drive like this Subaru Legacy, I'd never touch one.
Waited 24 hours to get across the border. What a farce. The stress of that caught up with me somewhere in Missouri.
Little Rock feels homophobic but they have nice drag queens. San Antonio had a surprisingly cool gay bar. I loved Austin. I stopped to rest briefly there again on the way home. It's in the top tier of cities I'd consider relocating too now. Mexico has terrible building standards. I wonder if they even have an energy code.
I'll post photos soon.
