Here I was worried that you were going to do something drastic. This isn't a movie just the first episode of an old Super Robot series. I found it in the Rushbird's files, it was listed under a inspiration folder.

BRILLIANT!

The episode has so many unanswered questions! We're thrust into a conflict with knowing so little about what's going on. It's one massive Cold Opening for the entire tale.

From a marketing standpoint it's a good gamble. The people that would eventually give up on it would tune out almost immediately, while everyone who normally WOULD stay gets hooked in the first five minutes, thus it probably ensured consistently good ratings for itself!

I'm damn glad you let me know this wasn't the 2011 The Thing movie before I destroyed it... I'd be robbing the world of an invaluable blast from the past!
