[[Mio is NOT going to pry over his shoulder. She's not the nosy type... like that.]]

Something you needed to get off her chest?

[ He had been trying not to bring either of his roommates into this (especially not Asuka), but he wasn't going to push Mio away. He turned around in his swivel-chair to face her. ]

It's just some old issues that refused to go away when I left Zeon. [ Char sighs. ] How much do you know about the One Year War and its aftermath, Mio?

Nothing that anybody else wouldn't know. The Federation defeated Zeon largely due to the efforts of the Gundam.

[[She may not be interested in aiding him, but, she will listen to his troubles all the same. After all... she... doesn't have a lot of time left before she's a desk jockey.]]

[ Char sighed. Yeah, there was a lot of spin in the aftermath of the One Year War. ]

After the fall of A Baoa Qu, those of Zeon who refused to surrender peacefully either went down fighting, or retreated to Zeon's last major stronghold: A hollowed-out asteroid in the asteroid belt called Axis. I went there as well. I had a relationship with its current leader, a woman by the name of Haman Karn. But, she... hurt me quite badly. Emotionally, I mean. Now I'm simply asking her not to try to attack the Titans, though I'm not fully confident she'll listen.

[ He offers Mio the letter, if she wanted to read it. Likewise, he'd answer her if she wanted to know just how Haman had hurt him. ]

[[Mio takes the letter and reads over it. From it's context, she gathers, this Haman is a former lover, and did him rather wrong in the past.

But, unlike everyone else, she's not going to be all up in his Kool-Aid about past lovers and unclosed wounds.]]

Trying to make an ally out of former enemies. It's not a poor decision, but, you seem to be writing to a woman scorned. Or so I gather. It's fully possible she won't listen. [[She folds up the letter and hands it back.]]

[ Char exhales through his nose, and takes the letter back. ]

Her actions pushed me away. And if what I've heard is true, she didn't take my desertion well.

It sounds as if you're trying to make amends to a degree. Hopefully that will account for something with her.

Haman may have done something terrible, but... I do care about her. I don't think she's a bad person, just... very angry, and confused.

[[This'll break the downer mood a bit. She smiles.]]

It's good you still see the good in people who've wronged you. I think, though, you should avoid telling Asuka. I rather prefer her being quiet when you're around.

I care about Asuka as well, Mio, and I'd never want to hurt her. Though, she reminds me very much of both Haman and Natalie.

I understand that. But, a girl like her... she has a jealous streak. If you're going to... continue your personal time with her, this is something she should likely not see.

I would ease her into talks about Miss Karn and your past. For the sake of keeping all of us away from injury.

[ Char nods. He's receiving dating advice from a girl who doesn't wear pants. ]

Quite well, actually. Hyakku Shiki is much more fitting for me than Zeong was. It's faster, smaller, and I'm more used to its controls.

Hyakku Shiki hmm... The name sounds Japanese. Any history behind the name?

I believe it was named after its designer. It features a prototype anti-beam coating, however.
