(Seiren appears next to Michelle with an every so slight smirk on her face.)

Many things are better in real life than on TV. So this is your first time in space. How are you liking it?

Obviously, I was just impressed by the sight.

[Michelle didn't look up as she talked, at least at first.]

The view is fantastic, I'm less sure about how much I enjoy the weightlessness I stumbled into earlier when I had gotten lost.

(Seiren gives a small laugh at that.)

Yeah, the change in gravity always takes you by surprise the first time you experience it. I remember my first time in space and dealing with it. I kept losing my balance because I would overextend due to the change in gravity. Don't worry though, you'll get used to it soon enough.

I kept bumping against the ceiling because I put my feet down too hard. I think I've gotten a bit more used to it, the bump on my head gave me quite an incentive to practice. At least we don't have to drink from bags like they did in old historical footage.

[minorbeat]

(That gets an honest laugh from Seiren.)

True. I can't even image everyone having to go through the training they had to go through before.

(Seiren looks out the window.)

It feels strange. All the other times I've been up here I was going to the headquarters of my last group. It feels strangely...peaceful being up here this time around.

I doubt we'd have colonized space if everybody going here had to do that.

[She quiets down as Seiren reminisces about the past.]

Problems with your own group? Or just visits being a prelude to fighting or something equally uncomfortable?

(Seiren looks down in memory.)

I used to work for a mercenary group before I worked for Project PreDestiny. A lot of questionable people at best. The headquarters could be describe as a cesspool of darkness and corruption. We went there for one reason only. To meet with the boss.

[Michelle looks away from a moment, feeling uncomfortable staring at the obviously depressed woman.]

At least you're not with them anymore.

(Seiren gives a soft laugh and looks away slightly.)

...Yeah. Probably better for my mental health.

(Seiren closes her eyes in thoughts as a slight smile graces her lips.)

I like it here on the Chalice. I feel...safe. Like after so many years, I have a real home again. And people I care about and care for me...It is strange to have all this but not in a bad way.

It's good to hear you've found a home here. It does seem more like one than I'd have expected. At least it certainly doesn't like a place that's supposed to just be a temporary posting...Even if it is.
