Awfully sian :( sighhh. My 2 day hol ie weekend is much too short. Sigh. HAIZ. I think I'm hating the train rides and high heels most right now, since I don't even know what I will get to work with yet! :( Am reading hard truths by lky currently. And it's interesting reading it post-elections. Where on some counts he has quite missed the targets, I agree with him even on some controversial areas. I rmb I wrote a report on Malays in singapore just to prove to my jc classmates my personal extreme views about their integration/culture shouldn't be taken as racism. But they persisted, albeit amidst laughter and amusement. Okay since I felt it was like yue4 miao2 yue4 hei1, I stopped. I really get what he means when he says we solve a problem by not pretending it doesn't exist, but by facing up to it. As much as I don't like his arrogance and high handed-ness, I do admire him for standing by his views so openly and strongly.:) He's very much like a tiger mom with his tough love. Tiger moms bring up accomplished kids with awesome credentials. But what's the point of a grade 9 piano diploma when you don't even like music or a harvard law degree when you would rather be composing/acting/computing. Does success eventually bring happiness and contentment? Therein, lies a big flaw in my comparison. Success among individuals and success of a nation can not be defined in the same vein. Okay, end of rambling. Have to wake up at 0630. :(((
