History:
TRAGEDYAbilities & Physical Abnormalities:
Zelos has a cruxis crystal (which I'll say is now equipped on his chest in place of his exsphere) that allows him to have angelic powers. This means he has wings (that he can hide-- they most likely won't be shown until a very serious event) and certain spells limited to angels in the game. On top of that, it acts the same as an exsphere, giving him extra strength and endurance. He's also a magic swordsman, which means that while he is skilled with a sword, he can also use magic skills. His skills include basic healing, and elemental attack magic.
Personality:
At first glance, Zelos is a flirtatious and immature man with an obnoxiously cheerful personality. Even before meeting him in game, he is described by Sheena as an "idiot chosen" and she outlines his apparent irresponsibility. He's incredibly narcissistic, and hits on every girl he meets, regardless of appearance or age. From the perspective of the party, Zelos seems to take nothing seriously. He's constantly cracking jokes, whining, complaining when he has to risk his life, and the like-- much to their (the other party members') annoyance.
However, despite all of this, Zelos is far more perceptive than he appears. He has an incredible amount of insight with everyone he meets, and he pays attention to everything. He's actually a very guarded and self-loathing person who puts up a cheerful mask in order to avoid questioning from the others while he bottles up all of his worries and insecurities. Another thing that he hides is his sensitivity. For example, after one of the events in the game, Sheena gets rather depressed. Zelos attempts to joke about it, but the other party members call him out on his attitude towards it. Once they leave, Zelos is shown talking to himself about how if they all continue to act so depressed, it won't help Sheena at all, and he just wants to help her move on.
Due to events in his past, Zelos has developed a loathing for himself and his title as Chosen. This extreme feeling towards himself and his reason for life is what guides him to make many of his choices. He feels no self-worth and doesn't expect to ever succeed as a chosen, so he doesn't really go after much. Instead, he goes through his life determining which side is the "winning" side and making the appropriate actions to switch. This includes leaking information to all sides, betrayals, backstabbings, and all sorts of under-the-table deals.
From the point I'll be taking him, Zelos will have learned to completely trust Lloyd, which impacts his character and personality in a major way. He learns that he can count on someone, and so that darker side of himself that's always running from things is subdued in a way. It's not completely gone-- in a world he doesn't know for at least a year with no castmates around, Zelos will be left to think on his own. Even while he's post-game, he constantly has personality/character flaws to struggle with.
What are your plans for the character in-game? I'm curious how a character like Zelos would interact with the setting. Having been here a year and becoming a SeeD, I'd like to play out how that affects his character development, and I look forward to getting him involved in many things.
Anything else? It's always okay to punch him in the face. Just saying.
Complete TWO out of the FOUR options.
ii) Prose sample (can be general or a response to the post's prompt).
This is the one I used for Discedo. If that's not alright, just let me know!
"Man..."
A gloved hand rose to rub at the back of his head as he slowed to a stop in front of one of the apartment buildings. What exactly had happened? The thing with the Rheiards went alright despite the unexpected second arrival, and they had actually managed to fight them off before walking down the mountain. Hell, even Colette was back to normal-- that Lloyd sure knew what he was doing with things like that at least. But a simple fight with a monster, a tumble backwards, and blackout? "You've got to be kidding me."
Did people actually live in these buildings? They were complete wrecks! He kept back a sigh and glanced down to the piece of technology in his hand. It wasn't his, but it was on his person when he woke. While he wasn't quite sure just what it did, yet, he wasn't about to leave it and never find out. But it could wait. Slowly, he slid it back into the pocket of his pants, moving to enter the apartment building. Maybe there was someone he could find and ask about all of this.
And back to his thoughts... This wasn't Tethe'alla. No way in hell was this Tethe'alla. Was it Sylvarant? Somehow, he wasn't so sure-- and how would he have gotten there anyway? There was a break in his thoughts as he stopped in the lobby to fix his clothing. His coat had gotten a little roughed up from a scat with a monster-- he was still bothered about the fact that his exsphere seemed to stop working-- and he couldn't have himself looking like some slum dog if he had the chance of running into a pretty lady! ...Heh. There was the slightest of smirks as he flipped his hair behind him and continued along. After all, things changed with this. If the rest of his party and contacts weren't here... Well, he needed a new way to survive.
He began with a knock on the first door he came to, a wide smirking grin plastered onto his face. "Yooo~! Anyone home?"
