Riding the wave

The cold medicine wave. Well, no, strictly speaking, I don't have a cold. Strictly speaking, I don't get colds. But cold medicine has decongestants, pain killers, cough suppressants--- it's good for what I do get. It's a lovely process where for the first hour, you wait for it to kick in. During that phase, everything in my head hurts. My teeth hurt, my sinuses ache, it's a party. Hour two, stretching into three, is pretty good. I can focus, I can move. Hour four sucks. It's basically worn off and I can't take more. My eyes water, my nose runs, I cough, it's awesome. I'm on hour two now, so woo hoo!

In the happiness meme, I'm grateful for the incredible timing that has meant that I got fun distractions in the mail as the worst of it hit. Last year, during tonsillitis, it was season five of Gilmore Girls. This year, it was "Sports Night," the complete series, 10th anniversary edition.
