Hey, so I disappeared in May... I have no decent explanation. I just couldn't come up with the perfect post, and then the expectation (in my mind) of coming up with a worthy, clever, and cute post began to overwhelm me. The silly pressures we put on ourselves!
Anyway, in the past four months, we have had a successful camping trip and met
folkgirl at the LLL state conference. Keith, Ellie, and I visited her grandparents in NJ and her aunt and uncle by Philly. I took Ellie to her first visit of Zoo Atlanta and I managed to see one of the golden lion tamarins that I had tracked for a research project back in the summer on 2000. My parents left for a 40-day trip to China to see the total solar eclipse and then on to Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan (they should arrive in Chicago in an hour and in ATL tomorrow. Importantly, Ellie finally decided she was confident enough to start walking, and then decided she really likes walking because then she can carry around bags and cell phones in both hands.
Here's a photo from yesterday of the little one in her wheelbarrow after she decorated herself with black and blue ballpoint pens and then went climbing in the garden.
Yes, she knows she is that cute. Oy.
