How did you ever get tangled up with fanfic, where it seems like every other fic (at the very least) has some sort of sexual angle to it? Or is it only an issue when you write about it, not when you read?

My dad got me hooked on fanfic. He'd actually find the ones for me to read. Then we found aadler's site, where he (aadler) recomends stories. (My spelling is atrocious right now.)
As for writing what I don't read... I read Stephen King's ON WRITING, and he brought up a valid point. You can NOT have every character responding, "Sugar" when they hit their thumbs with a hammer. At the same time, there really ARE some people who would say that. The point of that tangent is that some people think things I don't. As a result, they'll say and do things that I wouldn't, and it's my responsibility as a writer to represent them.

This is too great. I love Anya and this really does have her voice. I could almost see Giles' face when she gave some of her answers and was laughing out loud in places :D
