Good; I already know 4 out of the 8 lectures I have to do.
Bad; I didn't realize the last lecture was 12 pages long =/
Your random medica lword of the day iiiis *drum roll * Pterygoid muscle!
The pterygoid muscle functions as the antagonist to the masseter muscle in the mandicle and the articular disk of the temoromandibular joint!
I feel so smart because I now actually know what all those words mean and what the pterygoid muscle does! ... essentially it means it allows for the lower jaw to do the side-ways fexion when chewing. Doesn't sound NEARLY as impressive as the 'proper' explanation of it. But oh well...
As Eventus put it;
SR: *flexes brain powers*
Eventus: My face just went O_o
SR: haha and by doing that oyu flexed all the muscles and joints I just mentioned!
aaaand...
"Adipose tissue on the other hand has little extracellular structural material but has proportionally larger intracellular material. It has a thermoregulatory function and a protective function but its most important role is in energy metabolism"
...
or as I put it in my notes: "Fat keeps people warm and protects people and can be burned by lack of energy"
Now back to the study mobile! 17 more pages to go before the end of the day! and 7 more hours until midnight!
(and all the on just one can of energy drink!!!! *bounce*)
