Just a general rant.
Something that struck me yesterday is how strong a female is, simply because she has to be. Why are we called "the weaker sex"? People only look at the physical capabilities (and restrictions) and not at the emotional ones. Our emotions define who we are, not our physical being. Would someone with no arms and legs be less of a human than any one of us? Ofcourse not.
Female psychology is undoubtedly vastly different from the male's. We feel differently. We feel much more deeply and strongly, whether it be happiness, sadness, anger, frustration, any emotion at all, really (except, perhaps, lust. Maybe that's one emotion the general males surpass us at feeling. Perhaps.) No wonder the term "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" came about!
Life throws its curveballs at all of us, regardless of our sex. Perhaps more so at the females, because there are instances where we are more at a disadvantage than the males. But the effort that females have to put in at controlling emotions, that I think is considerably higher! Simply because we feel more deeply, strongly and long-lastingly. Men, I think, have the blessed ability to compartmentalise their feelings. But us? No! Everything is all mixed up! One event, which made us feel depressed, can carry its effects on to many other events; but we have to strive to control that, show the world we are strong, that we do not unfairly allow one event to affect the other completely unrelated one. Even though we might be torn up inside, we recognise that one incident should not affect the other. For the sake of fairness, we try to compartmentalise our emotions, lock it up.
But this goes against our basic psychology. We have to put in so much effort to achieve this! Sometimes we succeed, sometimes we don't. This very effort is what makes us stronger than males. At least, that's my two cents. Hopefully our basic psychology will change someday (society will force us to change) and we will evolve into being able to compartmentalise effortlessly. We'll see.
And for all those females out there, holding it all in, trying to remain sane inspite or the insanity whirling inside, I say to you, WOW. You're really something else.
