All I can say is, I am REALLY thankful that HCM on Sunday was a fun period game-playing session, because after helping run 3 classes of Werewolf, I was emotionally and physically DONE.
Each class did an amazing job, with the emotional intensity and dedicated acting/character immersion building up progressively throughout the day until the third class nearly brought me to tears when a village lad was found dead and his mother (and the other village women) began wailing their grief. Everyone's reactions were transcendental...it had stopped being a game long before. Instructors can only hope for moments like that.
I have nothing but respect for Canterbury, who narrated those three 75-minute games, and then voulnteered to do a fourth for the Dialect lab. He has vocal cords of steel.
Terror, anguish, grief, heroism, cunning, grim acceptance...if only 1/2 of that ever makes it into the lanes, the patrons will get a real run for their money.
Very, very proud of SAPA today.
